Can I power my POG2 with a Pedal Power/Pedal Power2 ?…or MUST i use the supplied adaptor?
October 24, 2010 at 8:02 pm #112136The EH ManModeratorLearn how to use your equipment properly. Read the manuals for both and figure it out.

A real pro takes the time to learn the limitations and expectations of his gear. We get this question on average once a day and it involves an answer that the OP could find in 2 minutes of looking.
First off, see how much current your power supply is capable of. Then, check the current requirements of the POG2 at the spreadsheet in my sig or in the pedal’s manual.
Short answer, yes you can, IF the power supply can supply the proper voltage and current for the POG2. Watch polarity as well.

Go look at the Voodoo Lab/Pedal Power forum – their resident “All Knowing Guru” is friendly, helpful and professional — that is why they have the reputation of top-notch customer service.

October 26, 2010 at 5:12 pm #112199The EH ManModeratorI’m not paid for this. Therefore you get an unbiased answer.
I, and likely some of the other mods, are simply getting tired of people not being able to do their homework. As I said earlier, it literally takes 2 minutes to find out the answer.
According to the spreadsheet in my sig, the POG2 requires about 160mA to operate.
As for the Pedal Power 2, I can’t find any info on it but according to info on the Voodoo Labs website the PP2+ has 2 high current outputs that can each handle up to 250mA so it is capable of running the POG2 on one of those (the L6 jacks). I don’t know what the difference is between the PP2 and PP2+.It took me longer to type this than to find that info.

I check this forum multiple times a day, and every time I see a power supply question (just about daily), EH Man has already beat me to the answer. He’s fast, and knows his stuff. And most of the time its info provided in the manuel. Professionals know all aspects of their work. Musicians just play.

October 26, 2010 at 9:29 pm #112213souljah671MemberHaha, I used to be that guy asking the dumb questions…now I do exactly as the Mods suggested: read your manuals thoroughly before asking a question on this forum. I admit I asked some newb-related questions before, but I love the feedback I get on this forum, positive or negative. That’s why now, I just ask questions regarding signal routing or pedal placement to discover new tones from my lovely EHX pedals.
They’re right about the whole pro vs. musician thingie…

I’m not a tech, but still that doesn’t stops me from finding info on pedals I own and how to use them properly. And no one, and I mean NO ONE pays us to answer simple questions.
October 27, 2010 at 2:02 am #112218souljah671MemberI agree with this guy above me–a lot of local musicians seem to check me for answers regarding their pedals, pedal-placement, etc. when I’m just someone that reads up on gear he wants/has.

So what is the point of having a help/technical questions section at all? It seems like all that goes on here is customers complaining that this isn’t tech support, and moderators complaining that they’re not paid to be tech support. If we’re not allowed to ask questions about the technical aspects of EH pedals here, what exactly is supposed to go on?
Every thread in here is someone saying their pedal is broken, and being told to contact EH. Clearly, people log on here thinking they are contacting EH, only to be yelled at by people who don’t work for EH. Seriously, I’m not being facetious, what constitutes a legitimate thread in this part of the forum?

Exactly. And…if these questions get asked over and over again, I guess your answers aren’t clear enough. Make it clear and simple to dummies like me.
BTW, I know alot of pro players who don’t know alot about their gear. Lets face it tech/gear heads….it doesn’t matter how much you know about your gear as how well you can play your instrument(s). So, don’t sit there with a smug look on your face because you know about the mechanical side of gear…..geez.

It is not our job to answer any questions about anything, we do help when we can, just like any other forum member would.
I wish there were a member of EHX tech support logged in at all times to answer questions here but there isn’t…. and if a forum member (admin or otherwise) can’t help you will told to contact EHX, that’s not always the ideal solution but it’s the only one we have to offer. I don’t like that fact anymore than you do, but there’s nothing we can do about it.
It’s not that we are moaning about not being paid to be tech support, we aren’t tech support.. most of us are just musicians and effects users with little technical knowledge especially on new products that most of us don’t even own. You can ask whatever technical questions you like here and sometimes another member may be able to answer, but that’s as far as it goes. If you don’t like the answer you get that’s kinda tough, it’s an open forum not EHX tech support.
October 27, 2010 at 5:34 pm #112239CryabetesParticipanthas anyone from the forum called EHX to ask that a customer service tech use the forum?
think we should?[is it super dorky to call to discuss a webforum?]
