I have seen the discussion here regarding an accordion and have the desire to drive a C9 from a diatonic accordion (melodeon) which has fitted Microvox pickups (microphones basically).
We tried the C9 in a distributor’s shop but it didn’t work properly.
Is there a way to make it drive a C9 – perhaps by using another pedal/box in between the instrument and the C9 ?

Does that help ?

First I would push it with more gain OR try a compressor pedal which will bring up the soft attack and give it a pop.
Also make sure you are in the range of the guitar.
If you have multiple reeds out of tune as in a chorus effect of an accordion that could drive the unit crazy as well.April 29, 2016 at 6:52 pm #121476ashandeiParticipantThat sounds quite positive – does ECX produce a suitable pedal or would you recommend one for me?
I have a Mel9 on order for the guitar, I imagine if I get that to work with a pedal then the C9 (B9, Key9) would also follow….?
Thanks for the information,

Your best best is check if a store by you has any compressor pedals you can try with it.
That way you will not have to order one on a whim.
I wish I was there with you squeeze box to see what was going on.If a compressor pedal works THEN Bobs your Uncle and then you can pick the best one for the job.
We make a bunch of compressor pedals.Quote:That sounds quite positive – does ECX produce a suitable pedal or would you recommend one for me?I have a Mel9 on order for the guitar, I imagine if I get that to work with a pedal then the C9 (B9, Key9) would also follow….?

I agree entirely, I had intended to go back to the same store and try such a device…….it seems reasonable to attempt an EHX one first, the guy was very impressed with your equipment.
I will let you know the outcome either way, it may be a few days as it’s not just around the corner.
