I have couple of EHX pedals and I just bought a Burkey Flatliner SIX power supply which can provide 9, 12, 15 or 18VDC from six outputs (each @ 100 mA). Can I use the Flatliner with Holiest Grail (9V) and with Deluxe Memory Man NOS (24V)? Or should I use e.g. Y-cable serial (Volt doubling) from Burkey to get the voltage to 24V or is the 18V enough or a current doubling cable? How do the Big Muff NY and the black Sovtek Muff work if e.g. 12V is used?
do you have more than two 12s? I’d try to give it 24.
I don’t think the Big Muffs would be very different sounding with more voltage.
Won’t you fri your BM’s with a higher voltage?
Yes, the flatliner six has six outputs which can be each adjusted to 9, 12, 15 or 18V. So I think I’m going to put two of the outputs in series to double the voltage and use the 9V for the BMs if there isn’t any major difference in the sound. I was just wondering whether someone had tested BMs at 12V for example because I know that many people use higher input voltages e.g. for fuzz faces. I’ve also heard that the old DMMs used 18V, so I was thinking whether the same voltage could be used for the “new old” versions.
