I have an EHX Oceans 12 pedal. For the second time, it went silent.
Somehow it is able to enter mode C for spring reverb. There is no option C for spring reverb, only A and B.
In mode C, the pedal is silent. Hitting the button to select mode A resolved it, but this should not be happening. This is a buggy pedal.
Does this pedal support firmware updates?

Are you using the EHX supply? It draws a fair amount of current and if is starved for current it acts weird. If the supply is cool please write the techs in the morning at:

Sorry I didn’t think to check if the power supply was warm. It was the only pedal in the FX loop of my Line 6 HD500x at the time. I had just bought the pedal, so I was experimenting with all modes one at a time. I remember spring reverb was wonky, really low volume and distant. No knob or secondary function would fix it. Later all modes stopped working, like it was stuck in bypass. Pedal factory reset resolved both issues.
The second time it happened I was using my 1Spot CS12. The pedal was plugged into a 250mA output. I was mode surfing again, it stopped working again, like it was stuck in bypass again. That time I noticed spring reverb mode C, which I realized doesn’t exist. I switched to spring reverb A and it worked again. I could not get it back into spring reverb C again.
No idea how to reproduce this. I don’t recall if first was also stuck in spring reverb C. The only thing common was mode surfing.

I have the EHX 200mA stock adapter. I misremembered it. So first time was the 200mA adapter, not 150mA. Second time was one of the CS12 250mA ports.
Part no.: US9.6DC-200
Model: YXDC-41-1003
Input: 120V-60Hz 50mA
Output: 9.6V-200mAI will keep an eye on it to see if it reproduces again before trying the techs.

1Spot has a good reputation for quality power supplies, but maybe the port labelled 250mA max is not working as expected.
It says right in the Oceans 12 manual that insufficient power issues will cause weirdness, so I have to assume the issue was my power supply.
November 25, 2021 at 9:41 am #186329EHX STAFFKeymasterGood. Most problems point back to power supply issues. 1spot is often the cause. Also keep in mind when many pedals are used in a daisy chain the supply’s available current drops They then wind up staving the pedals for current.
