Howdy and Hello,EHX Crew! Hey,maybe someone on the Forums can help a feller out- I purchased a well used EHX wooden guitar cab with the tongue/groove construction at a pawnshop very cheap because it wasn’t working. I got it home, took off the back to have a look-see. The cabinet has the number 18 written by hand on the inside of cab, also on inside of that back cover I took off, right below the input jack plate. There is nothing on the speakers to identify their specs; the wiring is soldered directly to the baskets of all four speakers instead of a terminal. All they have is the EHX “face/head” design on magnet, with Electro-Harmonix Musical Speaker printed below that. Not a word or number anywhere, not speakers nor jack plate.
Anyone familiar with these cabs and the speakers inside them? I will post pics shortly. Thanks, cheers to all.

November 15, 2017 at 12:44 pm #123308The EH ManModeratorThey’re Eminence.
I have a 4-12 and a 4-10. Both for sale if anyone is interested. Still in original boxes, never used.

I will contact Eminence and see if they can relay the specs regarding wattage and ohm. 4×10 cab, smaller than my slanted Marshall, weighs like a full-stack. Amazing you have NOS version of both 10″ and 12″. I’m afraid to even ask prices but after observing the construction of these cabs, the quality of workmanship, etc.,they are almost priceless. I recall seeing a 4×12″ under a 1966 Fender Bassman, out in a west Texas recording studio, late 90’s. I payed an extra hour of studio time just to play the set up,owner near died laughing when I asked if it was for sale.
Again, thanks for info. I am finding very little on-line, and with no identifying #’s or text but a handwritten #18, I figure I will never learn much.

So…Electro-Harmonix decal/logo, but nothing else. No serial # or model # printed on the speakers anywhere. Other than the hand-written #18 on two locations of cabinet, the EHX logo, there is no information. The input jack is blank, raw metal with no info. I admit defeat, no record or info available on the Electro-Harmonix ‘mystery” speakers in this cabinet. They sure sound good, though. Thanks for your help.
November 25, 2017 at 10:22 pm #123356The EH ManModeratorHere’s an ad from the 1998 New Sensor catalog. It clearly states Eminence speakers. Yours say EH on them so they may be later when EH started marketing their own speakers. I believe those were made by Eminence as well, but I’ll have to check.
November 25, 2017 at 10:27 pm #123357The EH ManModeratorYours are likely EH 10VR-8 speakers. 8 ohms, 50w.
November 25, 2017 at 11:14 pm #123358AmmodawgParticipantYES- That is it,thank you for making the effort! I found one photo of the exact speaker for sale online in Europe. Germany, actually. But they could not find out where they are manufactured. A fellow from Eminence got very put out…”If they have the gold-tinted back plate, they are NOT ours, stop saying they are”. So, officially they will not claim them, least he won’t. I told him I’m not the Know-It-All, I’m The Know Nothing, I was just asking. Geez.
Again, thanks for sharing the info, I appreciate it. If you are ever in Austin,TX, I owe you a drink…let me know!Nice reply from banzaimusic, they have the 8ohm and 16ohm models exactly like mine for sale;speaker wire connects soldered to basket/frame,not a stock-type terminal. I bought the cabinet at a pawn shop right outside the gates of Ft.Hood in Killeen,TX. Soldiers coming and going from all over, may be a European version of cabinet although that’s just a pondering thought.
banzaimusic:
I have checked the box, the speaker and with our supplier and I can’t find any info on where they are made.
Apologies that we couldn’t be of more help.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.thank you for your business
