It is confirmed that Blink-182 has reunited and will be making a new album and will do a world tour!
Is anyone else as excited as me?

February 11, 2009 at 3:58 am #93062JordanLikesToRockMemberEven though I hate the band Im going to have to disagree with you on that. Travis Barker is actually a very good drummer.
February 11, 2009 at 6:12 am #93073julianModeratorI find Travis Barker to be like the Steve Vai of drumming. Very technically skilled, but he doesn’t play with much feel or soul, he’s sort of robotic. Although I’m a guy who doesn’t like Blink 182 so that partly enters into the equation.

Check out ‘For the Love of God’ off Passion and Warfare, I bet you’ll have second thoughts about that statement.
February 11, 2009 at 12:34 pm #93077PumpkinPiecesMemberHere’s why I’m excited they’re reuniting. I’m not a big fan, I can listen to them sometimes, but it’s like listening to acdc or the ramones, you can only take so much.
MY REASON it’s exciting: My collective group of friends are excited about this, posting stuff on facebook changing their aim messages to Blink 182 related stuff. It’s the first time people (from what I can tell) are excited about something in music (besides guitar hero….but thats not a specific band, you know?). I just hope they can sort of revive popular music to something a little less “hannah montana” and a little less “lil wayne”.
No matter what you think of Blink…..they’re better than a lot of the bullshit music they have on mtv.
February 11, 2009 at 2:33 pm #93080julianModeratorAs far as shredding goes I like math rock.
To Blink 182 changing the face of popular music. I don’t know. There’s going to be crud on MTV no matter what.
February 11, 2009 at 3:04 pm #93081PumpkinPiecesMemberI don’t mean being revolutionary, it’s just nice to see attention to a band that is semi-unique, or has their own personality. I’m more excited that they’d be putting more attention towards music….maybe raise some standards, even if it is just a little bit .

Yea, they are bringing back good popular music, instead of all of this jonas brothers crud thats out.
February 11, 2009 at 9:40 pm #93126electro-melxModeratorBlink182 is a wierd one…..before “Enema of the State” they were just another NOFX-a-like band and if i’m honest not one of the better ones. If someone had asked me back them out of all mid 90’s US ‘punk’ bands who would have made it big I never would have guessed it would have been them, its amazing what a major record label deal can do for a band.
February 11, 2009 at 10:08 pm #93127julianModeratorYou never can tell with punk. The typical punk kid has never heard of Naked Raygun, which confounds me because they’re one of the most awesome punk bands ever.
February 11, 2009 at 10:44 pm #93130CostchParticipantI could listen to the Ramones all day. But comparing the Ramones to Blink 182? That’s just low. In that “All the small things” or whatever it’s called, the vocals make me want to crawl into an oven set on cleaning mode. Travis Barker isn’t even technical. He’s boring, generic, and predictable just like that Joey Jordison guy from Shitknot. If you wan’t a real modern day best drummer alive, look no further than Danny Carrey.
February 12, 2009 at 1:23 am #93135julianModeratorI like Greg Saunier
February 15, 2009 at 11:00 am #93319Dr. MattModeratorNever really bothered to listen to Blink 182 so i can’t form an opinion on them – I’ve only heard all the small things and wasn’t impressed.
