I have a Black Finger that I had owned for a couple of years now and honestly never use. I got it because I use some Line 6 & Boss gear that is modeling and some one said that I could use it to kinda “tube up” the input maybe give me the feel and a little bit of the sound of running into a tube amp. I am not looking for it to boost my signal or even smooth it out, maybe just some extra sustain and to give me more of that tube vibe, any suggestions?
Have it set on the normal setting not squash and back right off the compression dial. If you then up the pre gain and the post gain you will find that you can get a tube sound. The more you increase the pre gain the more distortion you will get. Good luck

I always found the key to having the right amount of gritty-tube-feel from the Black Finger delt with mostly the Pre-gain knob. It can get pretty noisy if raised too high, and the comp knob is low.

Trexy’s concern for the topic is pretty touching. I think he really cares.

Replicant retired.
By the way, thanks for the tip Brianzero! When I have time this weekend, I’m gonna try that setting on my Black Finger.
