i’m really thinking that he is jack black, but i highly doubt it. but then that makes me think: how can he afford all of those pedals?“Rachelzank” was the one I meant. There’s a good couple of similar posts scattered around the forum. They copy comments from sites that are linked in thread to make them seem legit.
yea, those are getting really annoying.

December 3, 2009 at 1:43 pm #104752AshjaahsMuffParticipantive recently got the big muff with tone wicker and i think it is an amazing pedal, the variety of sounds you can get out of it and everything is just great.
i used to stack an od3 and english muff’n to get my “rock” distortion, i liked it, but there was something missing, and then i got the big muff, awesome,

It seems they are stopping production of all pedals in Russia, I don’t know why, maybe it’s not cost effective anymore or something …… and they aren’t RoHs compliant so you haven’t been able to buy them new in the UK/EU for a number of years now. It doesn’t make much sense for a company to make a product that they can’t sell everywhere and it doesn’t really make much sense to have a seperate manufacturing plant in Russia when every other EHX pedal is (or moving towards) Chinese populated boards and assembly in NY.
December 23, 2009 at 12:13 pm #105621glntekehxMemberCan anyone advise the closes sound of any Big Muff to a Russian Big Muff (Black One).
Does a Bass Big Muff can cover the sound out of a Russian Big Muff?
December 24, 2009 at 8:04 am #105646Mr.GrimMemberi thought i read sum where that another reason they are stopping production on the Russian BM was there new laws that stop them from using components or parts that have chemicals that are now banned do to health concerns? like our (USA) OSHA or sum thing?
which seems dumb to me… whose letting a young child ( or what one can for that matter) disassemble a pedal and chew on the parts anyway?……… for that matter they might as well band all electronics, if kids or the mentally challenged are taking things apart and eating the insides of them…..lol
December 24, 2009 at 9:04 am #105648devnulljpParticipantRoHS compliance.
The goal of RoHS is not so much to stop people eating electronics, but to stop toxic components leaching into the environment from waste. You and I know that nobody chucks a Big Muff in a landfill, but the EC doesn’t apparently. They also don’t want things being made using harmful components.
Watch Manufactured Landscapes, this, or this, to see the extent of the problem and how it goes beyond some guy not being able to buy a distortion pedal.December 24, 2009 at 9:44 am #105650Mr.GrimMemberyes ROHS is what i was looking for, and forgive me for what little info i remembered and what i pieced together and thought.
you are very correct, this is a very very sad problem in the world, it also makes you think twice as to weather “recycled” is all that good if the materials are coming from these people in these ways!
