    There is a slight buzz from the pedal on or off. I assume this is normal. Correct?

    Are you using a battery or an adaptor? Is it the proper adaptor? Eliminate all other variables, and you’ll know soon enough.

    Hey thanks for the reply. I’m using the correct adapter. It really is just a slight buzz. The only other pedal I use with my amp is a MXR Carbon Copy. My amp is dead quiet otherwise. I guess I’m just not used to any noise. I’m new to pedals.

    Yes there is a noise floor in that pedal. Most high gain pedals have some sort of noise — it varies but my BMPTW is noisy. Does it go away any when you turn down the gain?

    It goes away ever so slightly when I turn down the gain. It really is not much noise. It’s just not dead quiet like the rest of my gear.

    It sounds pretty normal, most pedals (especially fuzz and distortions) will add a bit of noise to your guitar/amp set up.

    The Carbon Copy is an awesome pedal (sorry to say that…… no, I’m not!). You may also have a slight ground loop. My one beef, and it’s not Hereford sized, but it’s bigger than a Dexter, goes like this. EH loves to run their pedals with the adaptor having the center positive, or exactly opposite to everyone else. Mixing MXR and EH could cause some problems. If you are using a DC Brick, it won’t power you EH pedal. So, you use a seperate adaptor. Now you have one pedal with a positive ground and one with a negative ground. Unless you use a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power, you use two adaptors. Here’s a weird experiment to try, since you have nothing to lose. Make up a new 6″ cable to go from pedal to pedal, but omit the ground on one end. Try the ‘open ground’ end in the MXR side and then in the EH side. Maybe one way made a big differnce to the buzz. Please let me know. I need verification that I am not mixing up my meds again.

    that isn’t true all diecast EHX pedals are centre negative, the same as MXR, Boss and everyone esle.

    no problem there seems to be some confusion like in the nano clone thread, some of the EHX nano’s are positive ground (like the old fuzzfaces were) but they aren’t center positive on the power supply. I think all the 9v are center negative, some of the others might not be, best to check each individual instructions on the pedals page on EHX.com, but most use the standard boss type these days.
