Hey guys Im new to this forums and i’ve got a problem with my brand new big muff pi with tone wicker.
when I plug all the clables and stuff to the pedal and get ready to play, i hear an anoying noise comming from the pedal this noise occur when i leave the pedal in the floor, or when i touch the pedals switches, or the metal jack arround my cable. its a really heavy like “oscilating” noise.
I think its a ground problem or something related, Im using my muff with the battery it came with.
I will appreciate your help with this problem.
Im not from the usa so excuse my english.
thnx
Sounds kinda like a bad ground. I’d try some different cables.
make sure the ground pin is connected inside and hasn’t come loose or snapped off or something too. (you can’t miss it — it’s a little spring looking thing)
ive tried different cables, same thing. I just opened the big muff and didnt see the little spring looking thing…. how is it supossed to look like ? mine is pretty much like this one: http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/1711/lbmtonewicker.jpg
sorry for the late post, Ive been working a lot. thnx 4 your help
EDIT: UMM i just saw the little spring thing, it looks ok. what can i do to eliminate the “ground noise” then ?
My solution was to get rid of it
My solution was to sand the part where the spring goes. It was a bad ground. There so much paint between the spring and chasis.
