I have a Big Muff Pi Version 9 I got in November of 2001. I want to power it using my Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Iso5. I want to know what the polarity is for this. Is it tip negative ring positive or the other way around? I don’t want to hurt my pedal. I read about this on the Big Muff Pi page site and, it said it was opposite to standard pedals power supplies which are tip negative. Can you please let me know thank you! I’m a long time EHX product user. The first effect I ever purchased was a Muff Fuzz back in 1978/79(?) I have a number of EHX pedals. I’m still a fan after all these years.
If your pedal does not come with a power supply chances are you are not going to hurt your pedal using standard 9V for power(that’s if you bought it new). Pedals such as the soul food in the EHX line have their own power supply because it is set for 9.6 V. Part of the reason why Big Muff is a go to pedal because they need little maintenance. When in doubt, call tech support if you need reassurance. I am just telling you what I know from owning a couple myself (Russain Muff, and the Double Muff).
Cheers
Thanks for the response. I talked to Voodoo Lab and they said it was alright using the submini plug on it. I’ve used it with great results thanks again.
For sure dude. Always good to use isolated power as well.
