I’m brand new here and I hope someone can help me with my problem concerning my Big Muff NYC reissue. The pedal works fine when switched on, but when switched off the signal does not pass through the pedal… just dead. Is this a problem with the switch itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sometimes I switch on the Muff and there is either no sound, or the volume is very low. When this happens it often corrects itself after a few moments or if I hit the switch on/off.
It can work just fine for a little while then the problem can return.
This does not happen with any of my other pedals;
I’ve replaced the battery and the problem remains;
The input jack seems to not fit all the way in
(i.e. there’s a 3mm or so gap between the nut and the jack cable so it’s not 100% flush):
I’m not sure if this is entirely the root cause however?Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

That also sounds like a footswitch issue.

Could it still be a footswitch issue? If it’s any help the switch does always ‘click’ when stepped on. No connections or pots appear loose.
January 8, 2012 at 11:08 pm #116719The EH ManModeratorIt could still be a footswitch issue. You can open the pedal up and use it as normal. When the sound goes out try tapping the body of the switch or moving the wires on it.
