So I’ve got the Memory Toy, Nano Clone, Doctor Q and LPB-1. I’ve also got the Little Big Muff Pi, but that doesn’t really count as part of the Nano line.

Love the Memory toy. I posted on Nep’s other thread and it’s great. Mod effect is a bit strange, but the delays are fantastic. Tweaking the knobs while there’s sound going through the pedal is pretty trippy too.

I like the sound of the Nano Clone, it’s a nice balance between wet and dry signals. The main problem there is the volume drop off. I’m hoping there’s a way to fix that. If anyone knows, let me know too.

Doctor Q sounds great to me as long as the bass switch is engaged. Shutting it off results in complete loss of tone and volume. But with the bass switch on, it sounds cool and funky. It can do a sort of wah-like sound when you set your guitar volume at the right level. Teaming it with a bit of overdrive makes it sound like the Nano Bassballs pedal.

LPB-1 is one of my favorites. At the end of the chain, it’s perfect for solos or times where you just want to be the star. At the front of the chain, it works great for adding a bit more gain to other effects. In front of the amp, it can push it the amp into overdrive. I’ve only been able to try this with my Line 6 spider, but I’m waiting to get my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe fixed up so I can try it there too.

I own a Nano Holy Grail. I originally got it for use with my practice/home recording amp but it eventually made its way into my gig setup. It’s a great little pedal and adds a lot of life to my tone. It’s a very straightforward pedal: bypass, three way mode switch and blend. It’s true bypass, which I don’t really care for, but it’s the craze right now. I usually have the mode on the “spring” and “flerb” settings. Flerb is really cool for ballads and the sort. I sometimes use the “hall” mode for spacier stuff. The blend knob has an insane range. I usually keep it at about 10.30, which I think corresponds to a “reasonable” amount of reverberation. All in all, it’s a great little pedal.

About Nanos in general: I like their size. They’re manageable and easy to fit on any pedal board. Right now, I’m torn between getting a Memory Boy or a Toy, and the main reason I’m considering the latter is its size. The issue with the modulation is a big concern for me, though, so I might end up getting the larger one. I might also have a look at the Dr. Q sometime.

Originally, I was just in the market for a solo booster and found the LPB-1. After that, I was hooked. Great sounds, pedals that are tough as nails and I find that EHX pedals are a bit cheaper than some of the other pedal makers out there.

I’m after a Holy Grail Nano and a Stereo Pulsar now to complete my bare bones set up. I really like the Nano series for it’s size. Hardly takes up any space, yet it’s built like a tank.

I have the Nano Steel Leather and it’s great! I don’t even play slap/pop style bass, either. It can subtly bring out a little more clarity, sound like your dead strings are newer, or you can pair it with a fuzz to sound really, really snarly and nasty, especially with a pick. Instant Big Black.

Owned a Nano Dr.Q … not so impressed

it sounded too harsh for me… or too muffled

BUT i have to say that when i had it, i was playing pretty bad sounding guitar with pretty bad sounding humbuckers and i think I didn’t even have a valve amp. So i might try it again someday

(i don’t think so… i’d probably save some extra money and buy the Riddle… size doesn’t matter :love: )

Tweaked the internal pot inside the Dr. Q today. I like the sound even better now. My preferred spot is about 1/4 of the pots range. Still gotta play with the memory toy. Apparently there’s a pot inside that one which alters the modulation part.

Seems to affect the frequency range of the filter sweep. Can go from the quacky sound they have on their demos to a more funky wah like sound. I wish the pot had a control knob on the outside to give the pedal more control. But yeah, open up the bottom and experiment with it. I just wouldn’t recommend turning it fully counter-clockwise while the pedal is on. When I did it, the pedal gave out this high pitched squeal and my amp was turned up quite loud.
