hey all,
i was wondering if having a jack plugged into the input socket of a pedal (battery powered) will run the battery down? (obviously with the effect disengaged [light off])
i’ve heard this happens with boss pedals and was wondering if it happens in EHXs aswell.
the two pedals i’m curious about are a US big muff pi and a stereo pulsar.
cheers.
yes it will, with almost every pedal by every brand. Putting your cable into the input socket is what connects the battery, with some pedals the actual draw on the battery will be a little others it will be a lot. Either way it will drain the battery if you leave the input plugged in.
it does happen, i once left the input in a pedal that i put new batteries in a few days before, the next day, i went to play my guitar and the pedal was dead
The input jack is also a battery on/off switch so yes it will in almost all pedals.
