Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › BASS SYNTH handles low notes bad
I just got my EHX Bass Synth in the mail a couple of days ago and Im really happy with it. It’s the pedal I didn’t know I was looking for! I’ve ran in to a problem though. I play very heavy, dirty music in the vein of Melvins, Unsane, Mastodon and have my bass tuned in drop C (C-G-C-F) and I think that it really handles pretty much everything on the lowest string pretty poor. It’s like the harder i hit the string, the longer there is just silence until the sound starts coming in.
Is this a common problem, that the octave gets to low maybe, or do you think theres something wrong with mine?

Try turning down the trigger slider on the front panel?
Also you may need to adjust the input trimmer which is located on the inside of the unit.
The output of your bass may be too hot which requires the adjustment of the input trimmer.
I was thinking that maybe the triggerslider could have something to do with it.
I will try to turn down the input trimmer. I have a Squier Jazz Bass, so I guess its two single coils.
Ill try it though!
Thanks

Yes if the trigger slider is too high in wait for your signal to die down before doing anything.
That might be your problem, hope it helps and let us know!
