Hi there. I have a near new Bass Micro Synth pedal. It definitely has a learning curve but I’m having fun with it so far. However I am having some issues that I can’t sort out.

    – What is the optimal way to set up the internal trim pot? Where should all the sliders be set when setting that pot?

    – is it normal that the square wave adds a huge amount of volume as you slide it up?

    – is it normal that the overall output volume is quite a bit lower than when the pedal is bypassed? If I max the internal pot I can get the output close, but it distorts badly.

    – no matter where I set the internal pot and/or the trigger, the low octave seems to “pulse” in and out at a fairly steady rate, even when I’m playing in higher registers. Is this normal?

I’m playing a passive Fender P Bass, using an Empress compressor before the BSM. I’m powering the pedal with a Truetone CS7 isolated power supply.

Please help me out, thanks ahead of time!

Please contact the the techs at info@ehx.com

Its an analog device and there will be some weirdness in the octaves as its a flip flop circuit and they are weird.
The trim is set so the filters work best or if you need more gain in the distortion side.

In the manual it says max allowable supply voltage is 12V. I’m running at 9V. Maybe I’ll have more clean headroom at 12V?

I dont know about the voltage increase being a good idea. Better write the techs as it could pop a protection diode in the power section of the pedal.

I had the same problem with mircrosynth.
Square wave gradually increasing the volume so that I can’t even use the pedal, not to mention that sometimes I turn it on and it cuts off all my sound.
I sent an email to EHX and they didn’t give a damn about my problem.
I’m from Brazil, it was extremely difficult to get the pedal and now I can’t use it and the repair is almost as expensive as the pedal.
    I am disappointed with EHX.
