Hi guys,
I just bought a brand new Big Muff Bass fuzz pedal, had a silly question about the power connection:
In the manual it says the pedal can either run off a 9V battery, or you can use a 9V DC battery eliminator capable of delivering at least 100mA to the 9V power jack. The optional 9V power supply from Electro Harmonix is 9.6DC-200BI (9.6 volts DC 200mA). Battery eliminator must have barrel connector with center negative.
Can someone help simplify what that means? I plugged the brand new pedal in last night with no power supply and it seems to work fine. Does that mean it comes with a 9V battery already installed? If not, how was it able to work?
Also what’s the difference between the battery eliminator they mentioned, and the optional 9V power supply? Which one do I need?
Thanks!
It ships with a battery so it will work right out of the box.
It uses the standard a standard batter wall supply. You can use the EHX supply or others like Boss as long as the voltage and connector is correct.
