Well, my GAS got the best of me again! I just won an auction for a V3 Big Muff on the bay. The seller said it sounds great and works perfect. Wish me luck with that! I will give my impressions when I get it. By the way, it was $135 delivered. I think maybe because he listed it as “a Big muff from the 70’s or 80’s.” He took pics of the outside and inside so with the help of this site and others, I knew which version it actually was. Thanks guys!

The only problem with it is that it is missing 2 screws from the top, and I think all but one of the screw holes are stripped out. Everything else is functional. Pots aren’t scratchy either. I am very happy with it! I will take some pics as soon as I get new batteries for my camera.
Oh yeah, I got an old switchblade too. It cost me $30. Nothing I can really say about it, other than it works. I got it to switch between speaker cabs, and run amps in stereo. For that it works great. I will put some picks of that up as well.

November 8, 2009 at 7:12 am #103530firesgt911MemberNeed to go get batteries for the camera. I will definitely do it tomorrow. It isn’t the RAMS head though. It’s the modern looking case.

It’s the modern looking case.v3 is still a ram’s head inside though — EH3003. Those things are sleepers and a way round the high prices for the little face graphic version. Same muff, different jacket. I had one, sold it, just bought another. Mine had BC239Cs in it and was an awesome muff.

And my small, but growing family of old stuff!
I didn’t know I could have so much fun with the Switchblade either! I have been using it more to run two different amps than anything else. Really cool!

Couldn’t agree more. I saw an actual Rams head go for $560 USD the same day I got this one. That blows my mind.
Thanks

Well done. Thanks! It really does sound amazing. It is the sound I have been looking for. The problem is…it hasn’t cured my GAS!
