Hi, I’m Giovanni, a new member. Did anybody test the Anogizer with a digital synh? I own a Novation XioSynth, and I was wondering if its sound could be improved with this pedal; I haven’t read any reference to synth connection on the manual but guitar and bass. Thanx

Seconding! I use a Casio VL-1, a marvelous little monosynth, which can already be fattened up with an octave multiplexer and a tube preamp. I’d be interested in knowing what exactly the Analogizer does to your signal technically.

The analog sound had by a synth and a delay is a bit different; The synth’s sound is more from the analog filter and the various oscillators detuning, whereas the delay’s is “grain” and compressor artifacts.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the Analogizer by itself doesn’t produce any delays, it just boosts signals and “softens digital harshness”?

As for other ideas for improving your tone, you could run a monosynth through an Octave Multiplexer. Fully analog, and can create very fat sub-octaves with dedicated high-low eq.

It doesn’t produce noticable delays – 3.5ms (aka you aren’t going to hear it) to 65ms (you might hear a flanging/wave cancelling artifact) and it doesn’t allow for delay feedback.

Like I said before, it is a sort of waveshaping tool that allows you to make a digital delay sound like an analog one – an entirely different monster than having a digital synth sound like an analog synth.
