i prefer the power jacks and the smaller enclosures on the xo series. also, i do usually enjoy tb haha. however, the casings looked way cooler. for example; i love the germanium od, however imo, the graphics are pretty lame. i feel the graphics, or whatever you’d call them, also add to the “mojo”. pretty much every one of the vintage ehx pedals’ graphics had this unique, classic, yet simple style. idk, maybe it’s just me, but i do care about what the top of a pedal looks like haha. although, i’ll still buy a pedal even if the top of it looks silly to me.

i wonder if EHX will do a limited run of inverted graphic die-cast pedals…

All this talk of EHX Nanos and XO’s being “generic” or things like that seems to forget one important thing. You say EHX already appeals to the right people, but EHX is a business. They need to make money, and to make money they need to appeal to the most demographics possible. They still make insane, incredible effects, but to be able to find their way on to EVERYBODY’S pedalboard, they need 9v power, or a smaller footprint.

Besides, more units sold, lower prices can go ;)

    exactly! :thumb:

and as for being ‘generic’, i still think the XO and Nano effects are distinctive and recognisable as EHX.

while i like the old-style boxes, i also like the newer styling. at the moment i have three XOs and three old-style effects.

when i judge effects pedals, important things for me are the sound (no difference between XO and classic) and functionality (no real change).

The LBMP is an IC BMP (tone bypass version from late 70s), but with the tone and sustain knobs set.

The LMP is a Muff Fuzz circuit in a stompbox.

do you have a photo of your entire collection somewhere? you seem to have everything…

by the way, how to the v1 and v2 small stones compare? i’m trying to track one of these vintage ones down but i don’t know which one to pounce on.

ah, thanks for clearing that up.

    i think nightraven’s jealous.

gonna start a poll on old enclosures vs XO enclosures to see what people think. look for it and cast a vote!

According to this site ( http://www.pedalarea.com/small_stone.htm ) the v1 and v2 are essentially the same circuit with only minor modifications. I really don’t hear any big difference between them. The first Small Stone I bought was the v3, and I think I like it the best. I picked up the v1 and v2 because I found them for a ridiculously good price.

Here’s the most recent pic of my EHX stuff, though there has been a few changes. I’ve since added the 2 vintage Small Stones, a Bad Stone, a vintage Freq Analyzer, a vintage BlackFinger, a BassBalls, and a 16sec DD foot controller. I sold the Crying Tone Wah because I still have the Muff Fuzz Crying Tone Wah.
