Hi there,
I just bought a vintage Deluxe Memory Man 5-knobs in the second hand market. This is the classic unit with two prong cord. I would like to inform myself if anyone could help on this, what is the right transformer I need to use the unit in Europe, so I’m not sure if this unit is 110v VAC 60Hz, to be used in EU standard 220v 50Hz.
If you can find a 24vac transformer, you should be good. 100mA or so would be good.
Many thanks for the prompt answer! Sorry about my lack of knowledge now but could you be a more specific? Maybe drop a link with the kind of transformer I need. I googled that but it led to 24V ac transformer, which I don’t think is what I need.
20VAC to 24VAC with a center tap. I use this one for US replacement but you’ll need to find a similar unit since this one doesn’t do 220v.

The important thing is to find one that’s a similar size so you can fit it in there without drilling new holes.
WOW, thanks again for that information but it looks pretty advance for my skills with electronics. I was wondering if there is any transformer/adapter I could use to switch to the 2 prong cord of my unit and that one then to the EU electric current, without the need of open the guts/board inside. Thanks a lot.
The reissue run on a 24vdc adapter. The original could also be adapted to do so but would require some rewiring in the power supply section.
I see. So in other words, there is not any option to make the unit run in EU without opening the guts?
not safely.
Right. If I use one of these type of transformers 220v to 110v (i.e in the image) most likely I will damage the unit?
As long as you use a decent, well made one you shouldn’t have any trouble.
Okay – Could you be so kind to give a link as a example or suggestion for a decent transformer in this case?
the one you showed should be fine. You might try other effects forums and ask what the members have used.
Good – Again, thanks for the input here – much appreciated!
Would be great to hear your opinion about running the unit with a smaller transformer like this, if that could work fine or damage the unit> http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000VUCKOI?pc_redir=1396769000&robot_redir=1
I would use this instead:
