    Hi

I’ve just bought a 95000 looper. I’m using a SM57 with it, and since I wasn’t getting enough gain I tried using my trusty Cloudlifter preamp, which feeds off the 48V phantom power.

Problem is: as soon as I turn on the 48V, I get a buzz. It might be a ground issue, cause it gets quieter if I touch a metal part on the unit. Doesn’t go away completely though.

    Has anybody encountered that problem?

    Thanks.

    That is a ground loop!

Thanks for the quick reply :)

How do I get rid of it?

    For those interested:

Ok problem solved. The 95000 doesn’t have earthing, that’s why. I was having a ground loop because I was using it standalone with a mic and headphones with no connection to anything.

I just ran a cable (from one of the outputs) to an amp – no audio, just for earthing – and the hum is gone.

As long as you have anything connected, amp, monitors, pedalboard, you should be fine.

The Cloudlifter proves very useful as always btw, way more gain, no noise. Highly recommended for those who can’t afford a 1073 or something…
