There’s a tuning trimpot accessible from the top, near the tuning slider.

January 2, 2009 at 10:43 pm #90030danieldangerParticipantoh awesome, i thought it sounded strange and i assume one of those would be it, but i wasnt sure. this thing is new to me. theres three trimpots on it, two on the orange side, and one on the green. what might the other two do?

the only exposed metal there is a bit lower than where your arrow is, and its thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin.
im curious if this is the problem, how was it working before?January 2, 2009 at 11:36 pm #90032Quote:Quote:Quote:though i gotta admit it sounds out of tune? From what I remember (and please forgive me, it’s been a LONG time) — I think it has a plastic thumbscrew pot on the bottom? Dang! Is there a trimpot on the bottom? Is the one on the top accessible through a small hole (ie, for a small screwdriver)? I have some vague memory of some plastic screw thing somewhere, I thought on the bottom…
January 2, 2009 at 11:45 pm #90033danieldangerParticipanton mine, theres three. and none of them are accessible by any small holes. i mean, theres a small hole next to the octave switch that doesnt seem to have any purpose, but it doesnt line up with the tuning trimpot.
i added pics of the manual in my original post..
January 4, 2009 at 12:07 am #90050The EH ManModeratorHere’s a pic of the rare version w/ echo and glide bar. The glide bar is the strip just above the keyboard. The echo has sliders for delay and blend and is next to the volume control. The jacks on the back are: Guitar Input (guitar uses the filter and echo. Can be overridden by pressing a key) 9V Adapter, Echo Output (echo only, just like it says), and Output. This one had been modified for MIDI control but I disconnected the midi circuit and reattached the keyboard. You can see the MIDI stuff on the upper left.
February 23, 2009 at 4:40 am #93837blindogParticipantHello everyone. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this forum! I’ve had my Mini Synth since about 1986. For some unknown reason, a few years later I robbed it of some parts (9 volt clips, wiring for the keyboard….I was only 19 ) With the help of the pics in this thread, I was able to figure out the missing pieces of my puzzle. Thanks to the original poster!
I’m still stuck on the power supply. I highlighted the areas in the pic. The blue arrows are where I think the wire goes.**edit* The blue arrow on the pcboard is hard to see, it’s about 2 inches from the left and about 1 inch down** The red lines are where I think the 9 volt battery positve goes, and the black lines are where I think the 9 volt battery negative goes. Can anyone verify this? Many thanks in advance.

Thanks again to danieldanger for posting the pics of your Mini Synth. Now I need to build something for the bottom. The old cardboard like base disinegrated long ago!

By the way, do you know where I could get some extra plastic tips for the controls? I’m missing a couple. Also, has anyone modified their Mini Synth? It would be cool add a guitar input like the other model. I’ve also heard you can hook it up to a regular keyboard.
