(sorry for my poor English writing, best regards from France)https://www.ehx.com/products/ravishJanuary 27, 2013 at 10:25 pm #117749vanbeldtMemberAlso from EHX, Ravish Sitar. Depending on the mode, you could have crazy sequenced pitch bending, or modulation of the of the volume of the sympathetic strings, which would possibly not be so crazy, it could be a hypnotic rhythmic tremolo effect.
I actually own a Ravish and I love it transcendentally.
I don’t own any pedals by Lastgasp audio laborotories, but I find them fascinating, and many of them feature CV inputs. Besides the Toxic Plant mentioned above, there’s
Toneaxe
Sick Pitch King
Super Oscillo Fuzz
Cyber PsychicWith midi sync, this gadget and others like it has the potential to bridge the gap between techno musicians and guitarists. Saving up now!

“With midi sync, this gadget and others like it has the potential to bridge the gap between techno musicians and guitarists. Saving up now!” is really my opinion too!…

Thank you vanbeldt + 1
When I saw the 8 step come up in news from NAMM I thought Christmas had come round again. Can’t wait to see some more videos showing the potential of this unit.
Great stuff EHX.
February 28, 2013 at 10:08 pm #118803mchadMemberCould these be chained together? And get 16, 24 or 32 steps all in sync?
April 4, 2013 at 5:34 pm #118894Flick (EHX Staff)ModeratorWe have found the 8-Step to be compatible with most gear from Boss/Roland, Moog, Nord and Eventide and is of course compatible with all EHX products. The pedals below have been tested and are known to be compatible with the 8-Step.

April 4, 2013 at 10:13 pm #118898mchadMemberThanks for the reply.
There’s an opportunity for a future enhancement though. I’m sure players would welcome the chance to construct longer sequences.

could you guys wire up a test cable/converter box to try with the 8step?
Most of the L6 cv applications are done with a 10K treadle on a mono/unbalanced cable
so taking the balanced/stereo out of the 8step, wiring it so the 8step tip is to the L6 output tip, the 8step ring is to the L6 output ground/sleeve (with a either 13.3K or 12.2K resistor in line to lower the signal range, I forget which is appropriate off the top of my head) and the 8step sleeve going nowhere.April 11, 2013 at 2:26 pm #118914CryabetesParticipantQuote:Thanks for the reply. There’s an opportunity for a future enhancement though. you could always get an A/B switcher and run multiple 8steps and switch when appropriate

We tried connecting the TS cable to a L6 pedal, still no luck. In this scenario the Ring and Sleeve are shorted to GND. We will try putting a 13k resistor between the Sleeve and GND.
April 11, 2013 at 2:53 pm #118918CryabetesParticipantYou wouldn’t want to short the ring to ground though. I’m not 100% on what L6 was doing with their pedal design but I was able to build a converter box for my friend’s M13 so he could use the Yamaha FC-7 I sold him. Basically you want it between the tip and ring only.
edit: pm me an email I can shoot a diagram to. I feel like I’m explaining this really poorly.April 26, 2013 at 8:43 am #118964dBVelocityParticipantQuote:Quote:Could these be chained together? And get 16, 24 or 32 steps all in sync?Unfortunately no, 8-Steps cannot be chained for more steps.
Workaround: setup your presets as steps 1-8 for one slot and 9-16 for next slot and etc. then cue them in sequence. i.e. preset 1 is bar 1 and preset 2 is bar 2 and simply send PC over midi to cue the next preset as the the prior is playing in a loop.
May 3, 2013 at 5:11 am #119023thehoovesMemberHi. Does anyone know if the 8 step works with pigtronix devices?? Specifically i want to use it with the keymaster to blend two effects chains, but id appreciate any info on other pedals too.
Thanks.
