Hi,after succesfully intstalling a 3pdt switch in my Small Stone,I would like to do the same to the DR Q.It does seem to attenuate a little of my high end when off,but I’m being picky.
Theres lots of info on the small stone mods online, but the Doctor is a mystery.
Anybody do this to their vintage Dr. Q? The doctor is my favorite envelope filter so can someone guide me through this bypass operation on my doctor?
Heres a couple gut shots.
What I’m wanting to identify is where the board input and board output wires are.
The single red wire on the footswitch goes to the mini switch.
the other red wire goes to the output jack, and the black wire goes to the circuit board.
There is a black wire from the board to the + lug on the input jack. That same lug has a white wire going to the switch.
one more
shhhhh,listen…………………….crickets

The bottom red/pink wire on the switch is your output jack, the top two are input jack/effect IN on one side, and effect OUT on the other side. Follow the wires to find out which is which. If you have a multi meter you can tell other wise you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right first pop.
Once you have found out the PCB IN and PCB OUT (which I just told you how to do it) you can install a new switch.
Easy!
AHA,thanks!
