Hi
I’m trying to import audio files (.WAV) onto my 45000 from my DAW’s which are Mixcraft and just recently Ableton Lite and they’re just not being recognised by the looper even though I’m following the book.
The instruction manuel states I must have all four mono tracks and the stereo mix file and TEMPO.TXT.
I’m not seeing any of the above files when I’m copying across the file I want to use. They don’t seem to be available in anything other than one single file which seems to copy over to the folder on my SD card but isn’t being read by the machine.
Can anybody please tell me what I might be doing wrong?
Appreciate any help.

Still no joy.
I think my problem might lie in my interpretation of this….
“you must have all four mono tracks PRESENT as well as the stereo mix file and tempo.txt”
What does that actually mean? Do I have to actually create 4 mono tracks on my DAW save those to my folder and then do a stereo mix also and add that to the folder too?
What if I only want to create one single track on my DAW like a simple beat.Where do the other 3 mono tracks come in from?
I think I understand the TempoTXT part because you just edit an existing one to match the same BPM as on the loop you created on your DAW and drop that in with the other files?
Would be very grateful for any help.
Regards

So, after a few attempts, the Fastest solution that i found or work around was to just play your track or tracks and Record them directly INTO the 45000 in Real time, then you can go from there adding parts or such, it’s a work around idea that does work if you get burned out experimenting and just want to start working.
Hope this helps.December 16, 2014 at 6:32 pm #120435vito_satanMemberHi,
Thanks for your response.
I emailed EHX regarding the problem and they’ve asked me to send them some sound files from Mixcraft so they can analyze them.It could be that the 45000 needs a firmware update for those particular .wav files.
How are you recording live into your 45000? Are you micing your speakers?
Cheers

I’d be curious to know if EH offers 45000 firmware updates? I haven’t heard about that.
I plan to experiment some more with .WAV files over the holiday, but in the meantime, the way I moved my track into the 45000 was to take a headphone out, coming out of my computer, into a Stereo splitter box that i own, then I ran 2 cables INTO the 45000 set up to record in Stereo mode.
Then I simply played the tune in the computer and hit Record on the 45000. When the tune ended, I stopped the 45000 loop.
Very easy. Just check your recording levels going in and set it up not to distort. This worked perfectly for me in a pinch.December 17, 2014 at 5:17 pm #120437vito_satanMemberIt sounds like they’d consider a firmware update otherwise I doubt they’d be wanting to see the audio files.I’ll keep you posted on any feedback I get from them.
You’re solution sounds pretty good and I’m going to give it a go.I don’t know anything about stereo splitter box’s.Would a cheap, basic 2 way one do the job?

Yes, please do post any replies from EH about any Firmware updates. I still plan to experiment over the long holiday with file transfer.
As far as a stereo splitter, I have a Red Switchcraft Splitter box, those are pricier about $60.00, but you can also use an inexpensive Stereo splitter cable, just make sure it has the ends that you need, maybe a small stereo 3.5mm on 1 end and 2 split MONO 1/4 inch ends for the 45000.You need something like this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-FT-3-5MM-Stereo-TRS-Male-to-Dual-1-4-TS-Male-Splitter-Patch-Cable-3S1-4N1X2-/290920766031?pt=US_Cables_Snakes_Interconnects&hash=item43bc3a9a4f
I hope this helps.December 18, 2014 at 4:04 pm #120440vito_satanMemberThat helps a lot,thanks.
One other thing…Do you have full control over which tracks you are recording onto on the 45000? I mean it’s not restricted to the mixdown track and you can still overdub over what you’ve recorded?
Thanks

yes, when you “PLAY” your track into the 2 inputs, the 45000 sees those tracks as if you were performing them live, so you can do anything with them that you would with a Live Performance part. You would just assign them to 2 tracks and then overdub and mix when you finish. This is very helpful to me if i want to dump a drum part into the 45000 fro example from my DAW, then I can work on the tracks on the 45000.
February 3, 2015 at 10:06 pm #120497vito_satanMemberHi again
Did you have any joy with importing files onto your 45000?
Ive been doing what you suggested and it’s worked really well but I’ve also had a breakthrough with importing them from my DAW. I contacted EHX and got some great help from John.
I sent him my files and we realised that my PC was duplicating the extension file .WAV. So basically when he got my files they looked like this TRACK1.WAV.wav but I wasn’t seeing that my end.
If you or anyone else are still having problems it’s probably this and you just need to go into your control panel (Windows PC) > Folder Options > View and then if “Hide extensions for known file types” is selected you need to de-select it.This worked for me straight away.
My 45000 just got a whole lot better!
Cheers
