Picked up a minty used 2880 and footpedal this weekend.

    One big question for this?

Is it intentional that the volume is ducked for the period when the the play LED flashes off?

When I record my first loop, as it reaches its end the volume is essentially muted when the LED flashes off, and comes roaring back at the top of the bar.

Can anyone confirm or deny this behaviour? Perhaps I am hopefully missing something here. If this is the way it is meant to perform, then EH has falsely created a four track recorder and advertised it as a LOOPER, which it most certainly is not.

I have never ever used a looper or infinite delay unit that does this… completely unusable unless I am missing something crucial.

    heres hoping…

    thanks!

mine doesn’t do that. It will cut off when you stop recording but you can get around that by making the loop then overdubbing the initial loop. It’ll also duck when you (on the recording track, while the record button is lit) lower the volume slider at the end of the loop while it’s playing through.

Tech support at EH has told me that this IS normal. As far as I am concerning this is nonsense. They told me the workaround, which i will try to get used to but jeez man.

sounds like nonsense to me too; Do you have one of the loops as a wav file that you could post so I can hear what you’re talking about? maybe via soundcloud or something?

Nah, no sample. They told me that ON THE FIRST LOOP (ie the one that determines the timing/length etc) that there is a volume drop at the top of the bar, tied to the flash of the play LED. Only on first take, you can overdub and get rid of it, and it shouldnt affect subsequent tracks. To me this is just insane. this is NOT a looper. Its a 4 track recorder that will cycle back to the beginning.

I will try and get used to it, but this is a SERioUS oversitght.
