Hi
Have had my 2880 for about a month, love it. It has suddenly stopped working correctly – it will not respond to any attempt to record, play, start a new loop, nothing. Everything was working great. Have tried reseating the card, unplugging the footswitch, pretending that all was lost and giving it one last shot, prayer, all for not.
Expensive paperweight, especially with the footwswitch. What do I need to do here to get this thing back in working order?June 15, 2009 at 12:22 am #97920freshchopsMemberQuote:Hi

Expensive paperweight, especially with the footwswitch. What do I need to do here to get this thing back in working order? My Compact Flash memory card that came with the 2880, ya’ know, the unlabeled 1GB card one….. broke within a couple of weeks. I bought some high-speed 2GB cards (TRANSCEND brand) online for cheap and replaced the original one. Haven’t had a problem since.
I can’t say for sure that your problem is limited to the card, but I’m betting that’s all it is, especially if you can still hear your dry signal. Try another compact flash card before anything. I’ve also heard of others cards failing too……
Let us know if you find out this is the problem or otherwise what it is….. Memory cards aside, I’ve got a feeling these boxes are going to hold up for a long time.
NOTE to EHX, might be time to source a different supplier for the next batch of Memory Cards, just sayin’, ….. I’ve been using Transcend memory for years now from both budget memory and their high end for photography, and they’ve been solid memory. They are great value and very dependable. Actually an 8GB compact flash card went through my washing machine last week and came out working like day one. Maybe Transcend offers private label…. or generic.

I have the same problem with my 2880, I bought a new flash card but it still doesn’t work. The “new loop”, “play”, “rec” bottons don’t react to pressure. Maybe I need a special flash card, my new one is a – cf/4gb 3.3V/5V kingston – thanks
