    Are the 4 loops in the 2880 independent? That is, can I have loop 1 be 4 measures and loop 2 5?

    If not, is the following scenario possible:
    – I record a 1 measure drum loop
    – I let that play twice while recording a two measure piano loop
    – and loop that twice while recording a 4 measure bass loop?

    nope. neither are they independent nor can your scenario occur.

    you’d have to play the drum loop four times
    then the piano loop twice
    then the bass loop.

    Ok, thanks. That’s a pity. I was just reading the manual of the Roland RC-50 which does seem to have that functionality.
