Hello there,
I just bought a 1st generation POG a couple of days ago and I’ve been having nothing but problems with it. When I plug it in it plays fine for about 10-15 minutes or so and then there’s this weird humming noise getting louder as i play, when I play past 20 minutes the noise becomes unbearable. I’ve notice that the adapter gets quite warm after a while so I decided to plug the pedal through my BBE Supa-Charger and what do you know, not one sound ! Is this a common problem ? I checked the insides for badly soldered wires and it doesn’t look like there’s any problem with the wires at all.
It’s either your original power supply going bad or a problem in the power supply filter section.
The BBE Supa-Charger doesn’t supply enough voltage to operate the POG. You need 18vdc.
