Wow, nicely done. Now I see it’s all wood as well.

In case you experience too much noise, or interference from the outside, you could glue some copper or aluminum foil to the entire inside. That will work as a shield (if it’s connected to ground)

Thank you for the interference tip.
Look around for decorative wooden boxes.
Some have hinges, some inlays, most reasonably priced. Wooden cigar box for big circuits !
Get the right size and you have lots of room to do point to point work.
But seems like through the years smaller and smaller is the direction.
Whats next Nano Fuzz? How about a circuit embedded on a guitar pick and blue toothed…..
Oops I better patent that !
I used 12 ga house wire as a ground from the input to output jack.
Another piece for a 9v rail.
Larger wire does not work with a 1/4 watt iron.
Tried to solder to a penny flattened on the rail tracks…did not work.
Would need to use propane to do that.
My laser cut, made holes and etched the black plastic that I JB Welded the IC socket on to.
Switching color coded transistors (not shown) is like plug and play.
At the end of the day I like big wooden boxes….

    Meant a 25 watt iron.

Well decided to make my own box and attempt the Axis Face.
Sounds great and the three controls work well.
Electronic parts from Small Bear, Amazon and Mouser.
And thanks to Fuzz Central and Bret Robinson.

Found synonyms for Smooth Attack and Level.
    Hence Fizz Foam and Fuzz…

Hi guys. I also have an early Muff Fuzz that I can’t seem to get working to save my life. I rebuilt it using the previous schematic and replaced the 10k resistor, yet I only get bypass signal. It is another reverse polarity pedal, and it has the 914s and 2n4088s. I disconnected the one corner of the “triangle resistor” group from the switch pin when replacing the capacitor and tested that. That gave me signal and fuzz, but the fuzz was not as loud or gritty as it should’ve been. I also don’t know why connecting it properly erases the signal. This thing is driving me nuts.

I had a hard time getting my 1970’s era muff fuzz to work. Found a bad resistor.
    So:
    1) Check General Guitar Gadgets for a circuit diagram (if not here)
    2) Check for bad solder joints
    3) Check all resistor color bands to make sure they are correct (That was my problem, one was incorrect)
    4) Try a new electro cap, they do dry out over time.
Hope this helps. That circuit is a tight squeeze in that small enclosure.

    I don’t see 2N4088 (discontinued)

I am not an expert by any means. But if you would like to get your project going quickly,
go to DIYstompboxes.com , join the forum , and post your project in “Building your own stompbox” (create a new topic). Describe your issue(s) but you best include the circuit diagram, and photos top and bottom if you can.
They will have it figured in a few hours.
