Home › Forums › Vintage EHX › 1970’s Muff Fuzz component curiosity question
Hello:
I have a vintage Muff Fuzz with the small point to point circuit.
It works well.
I see on several Muff Fuzz schematics out there on the web, an electrolytic capacitor, usually 47uF, is placed from the battery to ground.
These Muff Fuzzes do not have a DC jack and are battery only, same as vintage one.
The one I have has a value of 33uF, probably not a big deal.
Question(s) to satisfy my Curiosity:
What is the purpose of this electrolytic capacitor ?
Or what was the original intent of this capacitor in this circuit ?
(I understand that it probably works without it, although I have not tried, but….)
Thank you much
Paul (I am not an electronic engineer and have only a basic understanding)
