16V AC adapator for 12V AC Hot Tubes – Electro-Harmonix

Hi

I’ve recently bought a Hot Tubes unit that came with a 12V AC adaptor. The adaptor is faulty and I’ve confirmed this by checking it with a voltage meter.

Could I use a 16V AC adaptor instead? I already have one and AC adaptors are quite difficult to get hold of here in South Africa.

I wouldn’t recommend it. That would put a much higher voltage on the circuit than it was designed for.
Stick with 12vac.
