I have an Electro Harmonix v256 pedal I would like to use in a backpack (portable). I picked up a Tip Negative Sleeve Positive USB to 9V Power Supply Cable and a USB power bank which powers the pedal fine. I can connect this setup to a powered guitar amp thats plugged into wall outlet and it sounds fine.
I got a 80W 100W TPA3116D2 Mono Amplifier Board Class DC 12V-26V Digital Audio Power Amplifier to amplify the pedal output.
This is the amp: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMqENH6
I picked up a 1/4 jack to connect the output of pedal to amp. I was going to use 24 awg speaker wire (red to center pin of jack, black to outer shield of jack).
These are the speakers (will be just using one):
Pyle PL42BL 4-Inch 180W Two-Way Speakers Pair https://a.co/d/cvx6EiO
I’m cautious about the amp and speaker portion of circuit. Since the pedal is the most pricey part of my project I don’t want to blow it up and let out blue smoke. Does this setup work? Anything I should change? Is there an alternative budget friendly non DIY amp/ speaker can I use with this pedal that is portable?
Hey, I was trying to figure out how to get the split effect (top 3 strings/ above F# approx filtered out) on each of the Bass9 presets. So I could use the Synth bass on for instance, but so it only triggers when I’m playing lower notes/ strings. Maybe an EQ pedal before the bass9? Or a Filter?
So yeah, however the “Split” mode is functioning, I wanna get that for the rest too.
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks
Operation Overlord (EHX overdrive pedal)
1/
If i send a line level signal into the Overlord’s input jack (e.g. an electric keyboard), and i switch the Overlord’s “Input Level” switch to “HI”, then will the Overlord send a line level signal out from its Output jack ?
If not, what level will it send ?2/
If i send an “inst” level signal (e.g. standard telecaster single coil guitar) into the Overlord’s input jack, and i switch the Overlord’s “Input Level” switch to “LO”, then will the Overlord send an “inst” (raw guitar) level signal (similar level to what was sent into the Overlord) out from its Output jack ?
If not, what level will it send ?Do the answers to the above vary depending on whether the pedal is engaged vs in bypass ?
Thanks in Advance !
Topic: Oceans 11 “popping” out
Hello. I’m new to pedals and just set up a small board, 4 pedals including Oceans 11, plus a looper. I have the O11 plugged into the 500mA slot in my power supply but after a while it pops itself off. Any thoughts on why this happens? I’m wondering about polarity – the specs say it’s center negative like the other pedals but the symbol on the front is a bit confusing and could be read as center positive. Link to pic of board attached. Thank you!
Hi; just swapped my previous compressor with a S/P-Nano, and am very dissatisfied with the noticable distortion that it introduces: It is the only pedal being used (e.g. guitar directly connected, then to amp)… I play jazz/clean-tone, and irrespective of the attack, level or gain settings, when it is presented with a picked-note, the signal is distorted – similar to over modulating the input – versus bypassed.
Is this a typical behavior of this pedal, or should I return it and try another of the same model? I would have expected, for its price, that it would be a clean, quality unit as compared with cheap/generic ciruits out there. ‘Any thoughts and experience from other clean-tone guitarists out there?
I’m looking for a solution to get a “wet only” sound out of the new Deep Freeze, using the momentary mode.
From what I can tell, the dry / effect knobs only affect the signal when the effect is engaged. But in momentary mode, where one is constantly reactivating the effect to freeze new chords, this means there is no “100% effect experimentation” (as described in the ad for the pedal) as the dry signal re-intrudes between each freeze.
Is this indeed intentional, or am I misunderstanding something here? Is there some way around this, or a modification that could help?
Many thanks!
Just received a new Nano Memory Man from Thomann. It’s… distractingly noisy (even at very low delay times). But the biggest issue I have is the feedback knob – there’s basically only super weak/three repeats or so max until around 3 o’clock on the dial where I then have about 1mm until self-oscillation. I’ve compared sounds and settings with several reviews/videos online and it’s nothing like what I was hoping for – is this normal? I’ve requested a refund – really disappointing as it looked like such a great iteration. Any thoughts or recommendations would be hugely appreciated – thanks!
