    I would like to know if EH pedals can be used with line level signals.

    I have a low impedance signal from a transformer isolated output from a tube amp that I’m using to feed a Red Box cabinet simulator. I don’t have specific voltage information for this signal but it’s pretty hot. It is unbalanced.

    I have a Holy Grail Plus pedal and it definitely distorts when fed with this signal but it sounds great when it’s fed with a regular guitar/instrument level signal.

    Perhaps there are some EH pedals that can handle this signal and others that can’t? Or should I assume that because the Holy Grail Plus overloaded that all EH pedals will get overloaded with this signal?

    You could just pad down the signal with a volume pedal or one of our Signal Pad pedals.
    have you tried that?

    Yes, this is the general solution that I came up with as well, but I’d still like to know a bit more about the general input specs of the EH pedals so I’m not just setting the pad level based on when I hear the pedal distort or overload.

    What I’ve done for the time being is to set the pad so the signal level at full volume is about 6 db below the point where I can hear the pedal overloading. The overall level is still adequate to drive the Red Box.
