Hello,
I would like to run my mic through an unbalanced 1/4 noise gate pedal before input into the v256 xlr mic input. Will the switch from XLR – 1/4 TS – XLR cause any problems with the V256 signal or tracking? Does the XLR input require a “Balanced” load? Do you have any other suggestions for adding a noise gate prior to the V256 for live applications.
Thanks,
Halnerd
You’ll have to try it. The V256 definitely prefers a balanced signal on its MIC IN connector but it should be able to handle the unbalanced connection as long as the connection to pin 3 on the 1/4″ to XLR cable is grounded.
