Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Attack Decay tone coloration in Poly mode?
Hi,
I recently bought a new Attack Decay and I am having a lot of fun with it.
Mono mode works like a charm, and I tend to lean on that mode a lot for single notes. I have experimented with Poly mode, but the 100% blend signal (A|D only, no guitar) has an odd, slightly detuned bell-like sound on many notes, similar to a ring modulator (to my ears, anyway).
Is this normal? I’ve looked around and not found anything about tone coloration in Poly mode. I did make sure I was only using either attack or decay knob (not both) when in this mode.
I really like this pedal but the Poly mode, as it is, seems to add quite a lot of not-very pleasant coloration. Just wondering if a) it’s supposed to be like this, and b) if anyone has had a similar experience. I have tried a factory reset on the unit but the issue remains.
Thanks in advance!
Yes that is normal. There is a lot of processing going on to make each string have its own envelope.
I personally like the sound and used it in the demo.
It adds a unique character to the sound
