    Hey guys,

I recently purchased the super switcher. Great unit! Unfortunately I’m now confronted with a little (big) problem:

When I’m connecting my guitar through the switcher to my amp, and at the same time use either CTRL1 or 2 for channel switching, I have a very disturbing buzz in my sound, wether the switcher is connected to its power or not. Problem doesn’t occur when CTRL 1 or 2 are connected, but the guitar is plugged straight into the amp. I’m powering the switcher with the supply that comes with the unit.

Also tried several different cables, but that doesn’t solve it.

Anyone got any ideas, or has encountered the same issue? Any help is much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Chris

Chris this sounds like it must be a ground loop issue. If the amp has a ground lift option that could solve it. or try to see if having the amp and super switcher being powered from the same outlet might help.

Thanks for your your reply! Yes, I came to the same conclusion after a whole day of searching and trying what the problem could be. I think it’s actually the external switches of the Mesa Formula preamp that are causing the main problem. Is there anyone by coincidence who happens to know more about that?

    Cheers!

Edit: for anyone interested, I got rid of the ground loop by putting a Ebtech Hum Eliminator between the output of the switcher and the input of the Mesa Formula. Works great!

    Cheers,

    Chris
