Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › [Question] Optical Compressor and Holy Grail Plus port?
I have two questions.
1. I have an aphex1404 optical compressor and it rocks. Wondering if EHX makes something like it.
my boss cs3 murders the low end and creates a weird 20dB+- wave above 4k frequencies.
My mxr dyna comp is a little better, but still too forceful.
When I use a spectrum analyzer the cs3 signal looks like a freeway turn about pretzel nightmare. DYNA COMP looks more like a wave, but when compared to the aphex1404 it looks awful.
I was curious if EHX makes an optical compressor or or something similar. It basically, without significantly modifying the balance and signal, brings your quiet and loud outputs closer together.
2. Opened up the Holy Grail Plus and saw a little male port/connector on the inside (like what I would plug my computer PSU to a video card for power. I was wondering what it was for.
thanks in advance
This is our only optical comp in pedal form now.

the port in the pedal is for testing and programming. It will not work with a PC.
