My 22500 looper does not work. No matter what I press or tap, the only thing I can do is unplug the looper. I tried to remove the card and the Mode knob worked, but only if I unplug first and then remove the card. After I insert the card the whole machine freezes again. I checked the card, it´s not locked. I was able to save all my tracks to my computer with a memory card reader, but the 22500 is still frozen.
January 23, 2017 at 11:45 am #122533Szasz CsabaMemberI did upgrade to the new firmware and know the 22500 works but the rhythm loops are missing. Not all of them, just the first 13. Can I somehow restore those rhythm loops?
January 23, 2017 at 1:57 pm #122534BlueslooperParticipantHi
I also have a problem with mine.
Bought it very recently and have hardly used it.
Seemed to work OK with my first try.
Now it just seems to freeze. When turned on, all seems good, but as soon as you try to do something – eg select a loop bank, it just freezes. None of the buttons do anything.
If I unplug and plug in, all seems well again until you actually try to do something, when it freezes again.I can’t see any help in the manual.
Will let you know if I get to find out what’s wrong.January 24, 2017 at 3:17 pm #122540EHX STAFFKeymasterFrom the manual
When you insert a new SD Card into the 22500, it normally would not contain the factory
default Rhythm loops. The COPY function copies the
factory Rhythms to the SD
Card. Here’s how to perform the COPY function:
1.Go to Page 2 of R LEVEL mode so that the word “COPY
” is displayed.
2.Press and release the MODE knob.
R LEVEL’s LED should be lit solid.
3.Ensure an SD Card is inserted into the 22500.
NOTE: if the SD Card
contains Rhythm loops in locations 01–16, they will
be overwritten when performing the COPY function. 23
4.Press and hold the MODE knob.
Release the knob when you see “COPY” blinking.
5.Wait 6 seconds.
COPY continues to blink while the factory Rhythm
loops are copied to the SD Card.
6.When COPY is complete, the word “done” is displayed.
The SD Card is now ready to play the factory Rhythms.January 24, 2017 at 3:18 pm #122541EHX STAFFKeymasterBlues loo0per you need to update the firmware:

Thanks for the note.
When I turn the looper on I see the -28- shown, which I guess means that the firmware is up to date.
What I did since find out is that the looper only freezes when I select one particular bank (Nr 9 in this case).
I ran my virus protection (Kasperski) scan on the drive which had the EHX card in it.
This showed an “error” and advised to run the repair tool. The EHX manual says that there is a “Skandisk Utility” on the SD card.
I couldn’t find one.I ran the repair tool in Windows 10 by right clicking on the relevant drive in Explorer (ie the EHX SD Card), selecting “tools” and running the repair tool.
This seems to have rectified the problem with Bank 9 causing the looper to freeze…..as it now doesn’t.
Haven’t tried it actually connected to a guitar/amp etc yet though.
Fingers crossed !!February 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm #122586Flick (EHX Staff)ModeratorQuote:Hi EHX Staff. Thanks for the note.

Fingers crossed !!It sounds like you did the right thing by running the repair tool on the SD card. The 22500 SD Card does not contain Scandisk, sorry for this misunderstanding, you have to run Scandisk from your PC as it sounds like you did. Let us know if running the repair tool on the SD Card has fixed it.

Check the bottom of Page 22 in the 22500’s manual for instructions on how to perform a COPY command.
March 10, 2017 at 5:48 pm #122678zhoatsonMemberSo I seem to be having the same problem with my pedal and when I found this thread thought, “oh good! other people have been having this problem and seem to have fixed it!” however none of the previously mentioned things worked for me. I am having the same problem where my device freezes, however it seems to only be when I attempt to loop something. I tried scanning and repairing the SD card on my PC, however that did nothing. I then tried updating the firmware, which also didn’t do anything… Also my R.TYPE is reading as -1 which cannot be changed. so I am assuming that means there are no drum loops on the device, so I then tried to do the copy function to see if this would help but no matter how long I held down the MODE button COPY never began blinking. Everything seems to work fine otherwise however, and all the buttons are functional until either LOOP A or LOOP B is touched.
Do I just have a bad SD Card? This pedal was just purchased this past Saturday and was new in the box. any help would be great, as I am beginning to become frustrated trying to figure this out on my own.
Thanks, Z

It does sound like it could be a bad SD Card. Do you have another SD card you can throw in there and try?
March 10, 2017 at 7:45 pm #122680zhoatsonMemberThe strange thing is the SD card seems to work fine when I plug it into my computer. I think I may have another SD card somewhere, but I’m at work now. I’ll give that a try later
March 18, 2017 at 9:37 am #122697bosjefParticipantHi,
I got my EHX 22500 looper just now and I think it is defective.
I was reading through the common issues in this forum but could not find answers to the issue I encounter on this pedal.
Here is whats happening:
*I power it ON and all the lights turn on (with the 7-segment display shows “-28-“) and then turns off right away leaving BANK and the 7-segment display ON with whatever loop number.
*The 7-segment display changes number from 00 to 99 as I rotate the MODE knob.
*BANK LED is lit. It blinks when I press the MODE button and changes LED position when I rotate it.
*The four red and 2 yellow buttons turn on/off when pressed. Now, the moment I press LOOP A or LOOP B foot switches it totally freezes and stays at that until I unplug the power.
I tried firmware upgrade already but step 10 from the procedure does not work – (10. Now press and hold the MODE knob for approximately 2 seconds, until you see U displayed. Release the MODE knob.) – I don’t see the U displayed at all.
I hope you can help me.
Sincerely,
JefMarch 20, 2017 at 2:35 pm #122710Flick (EHX Staff)ModeratorQuote:Hi,I got my EHX 22500 looper just now and I think it is defective.

JefIt sounds like there is a problem either with the SD Card or the SD Card’s connector on the 22500. If you email info@ehx.com and basically copy your post into an email, and ask for a new SD Card, we will send another card to you. If it still does not work with the new card then it is a problem inside the 22500 and it should be repaired or exchanged.
October 7, 2017 at 2:40 am #123227dyearsMemberHello,
I’m having the identical issue with my 22500.
I’ve upgraded the firmware (28) several times, I even went out and purchased a brand new sd card, it has made no difference.
I’ve reformatted the card several times and copied the drum tracks over.
The drum track will play fine, but the very second I tap any A/B/STOP switch, or touch any of the reverse/octave buttons, the whole looper freezes up and doesn’t respond.
Did anyone get this issue resolved?
Am I doing something wrong?
I’d appreciate any kind of response.
I’m pretty choked, it’s a great pedal wasn’t cheap.October 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm #123228EHX STAFFKeymaster -
