    Hi together!

if I play the internal synthesizer of the V256 with my Midi-KB (Nordlead A1 or Swissonic Easy Key 25) everything works fine, except holding a chord with the keyboards sustain pedal. If I take my hands off the keyboard the V256 goes to his lowest tone until I play the next chord (during the Nordlead is holding the chord in between).

I would like to hold the chord with my keyboards pedal (or its “latch/hold function”). Does anybody nows how I could solve this?

Except this the V256 is “a dream of a vocoder” :-)

Thanks! I hope that you can help me….

    keep on groovin´

I will pass this on to an engineer. The factory is closed today.

The V256 accepts the standard MIDI Sustain CC message which is CC number 64. Ensure that your MIDI controller is sending out the MIDI Sustain CC message on the correct channel (16) when you press on your sustain pedal.

    Thank you for the answer.

I did as you described. I did it still before I opened this thread.

The keyboards Global MIDI Channel is 16, the V256 is working correctly except the Sustain Pedal, MIDI CC messages are sent on Channel 16 (with a Waldorf Streichfett Synth set to MIDI Ch16 the Sustain Pedal is working), I tested with 3 different Sustain Pedals and in between 3 keyboards (at last Nord Electro3), all on MIDI Ch 16.
The V256 is working perfect, except the Sustain still. Modulation Wheel and Pitchbender are working good.
    I don´t know further.

We will have to test a V256 with a sustain pedal to see what’s going here.

Re V256 midi sustain (cc64) not working:-
I have the same issue. The V256 fails to respond to cc 64 sent on its default chan 16. The v256 does not sustain! Gender (cc23) works, Blend (cc20) works, Instrument Out Blend (cc 25) works.. But not Sustain (cc 64)!

I have also tried the v256 in omni mode (send cc 125, 0). In omni mode the v256 responds to other midi ccs such as mod (cc 1) and gender (cc 23) but NOT sustain (cc 64)

Note: I’ve checked these messages using midiox.. They are ok, in the case of sustain (cc64), the message controls other external midi driven equipment set to chan 16, but not the v256..

I’m guessing there’s either a piece of missing info in the midi handling setup or a bug.

Please let me know, how you will deal with this.
    Thanks
    Steve

I think they don´t care about their customers, there is till now no solution for this problem, no answer or any other helpful thing. I am very disapointed about EHX. The V256 sounds great, but with this issue it is not useable. I will never buy any EHX gear again. Forget this company! Better buy a working Vocoder from Roland. Their products do work as described.
