Hello,
I recently purchased an Electro Harmonix 720 Stereo Looper. I’m running into a few issues, but I’m somewhat new to looping, and completely new to this pedal specifically, so I’m not 100% sure that the issues are with the pedal and not user error.
Here are the 2 major issues I’m having:
#1: At seemingly random times, while the pedal is just playing back a loop (not recording), in stop mode (not fx mode), I can’t get the reverse or 1/2 speed buttons to engage. This isn’t always the case, just sometimes. Generally, when this happens, if I stop playback on the loop, then start it again they’ll work just fine. This leads me to believe that I’m not somehow in the wrong mode or something. It’s like they just don’t always work…
#2: I’ll describe this step by step for clarity’s sake. Starting with an empty loop, I’ll tap the Loop button once to begin recording the loop. After playing what I want, I tap Loop once again to close the loop. Now it’s playing back. I tap Loop once and add a 2nd layer. I tap Loop once to finish recording the 2nd layer. Now it’s playing back again, with both layers. Here’s where things get weird. I tap Loop once (I do NOT hold the button down for anywhere near 2 seconds) to record a 3rd layer. However, as the pedal engages record mode, it simultaneously deletes the 2nd layer. So it’s now in record mode, but the 2nd layer is gone. And because it’s now recording a new layer, I can’t get that 2nd layer back. This is happening a lot, but again, not all the time. I thought perhaps I had used the 12 minutes of record time, but I went back and deleted another saved loop and still had the same issue, so that doesn’t seem to be it.
Has anyone run into similar issues with this pedal? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I see this is an old post but YES, I have recently run into the exact issue. Wondering if you ever found a solution other than having to stop and restart a new loop ?
Sorry please write the techs at info@ehx.com
