Hi from a new member. Wanted to share with you all my pedalboard setup. Recently I have completely changed out my entire music rig, a little at a time. Added some new guitars and replaced my solid state amps with all tube ones. Longing for that vintage valve tone (and smell of hot tubes glowing inside a metal casing); that Classic and Hard Rock of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, the sound of live bands like at A Day on the Green, Woodstock, and California Jam concerts. I have finally replaced all digital multi-fx units I was using; the Zoom G1on and Korg Pandora, for analog FX. My pedalboard chain now consists of independent analog effects from boutique USA manufacturers (maybe 1 or 2 are not actually made in USA). Now my sound has a much warmer tone fully natural and organic, rich lush layers of chorus, delay, flanger, phaser, and reverb with overdrive/fuzz for a little more distortion added to my tube amps gain which I rely on extensively. This complement of analog effects with their settings used modestly add a more full tone to my guitars, it can actually be heard the differences in sound from a digitally reproduced FX and an analog one that manipulates the signal via capacitors, resistors, and transisters. As with tube amps natural compression over a solidstate’s processed sound.
You will notice similarities in their names, they all bear a “Space age” moniker, after all I am a middle-aged closet astronaut. That was my first attraction to them yes, but it was not until I watched many youtube videos on their demo that utterly convinced me. Besides an idiosyncrasy of having a theme for your effects pedalboard is not such a bad thing! I’m not stating here that solid state and digital multi-fx units are bad in any way, I’ve relied on them for more than 20 years, its just my taste has changed over the years and I felt the need to go back retro a bit; go full circle if you will, I no longer have the hair, but I do have that rocking sound again. Back in the day, within my first 15 or so years of guitar playing I went through an endless number of mainstream brands of amps and effects pedals trying to find my tone; Peavey, GK, MXR, Boss, DOD, Digitech, Ibanez, even Arion. I then rejected them all and moved away from floor effects and towards single rack units like the ART DST4 and Digitech GSP1101 paired with a Marshall 8008 Valvestate racked power amp, I relied heavily upon all that pre-programmed digital FX with amp modeling for the sound I tried to achieve, until recently. So with this recent epiphany washing over me (like being re-baptized by Randy Rhoads in some out-worldly way), I found myself grown fond again of stompboxes, but I didn’t want to start all over again with the usual brand names (they’re all great and obviously some made very popular by well known artists) so I looked for a more exotic lineup which I have setup on my Behringer PB600 pedalboard, youtube videos are great to research what you’re looking for but even with an excellent audio sysytem on you computer, they cannot be used as a reference to what the effect pedal truly sounds like, you just have to be a little adventurous!

I haven’t eliminated all digital, I have a Fender Mustang III v2 Limited White Combo which I moded up a little, being an IT Tech Guy, I love using this amp with Fender Fuse software running on an MS Surface. But this amp has a Celestion G12T-100 which sounds unreal.
