I’ve been searching for some time on how to add a blend control to the Hot Tubes Nano pedal, but I’ve had little to no luck getting help form any modders/builders out in the community. I even had a quick chat with Howard Davis, the designer of the original Hot Tubes circuit. He said there would need to be a complete re-design of the pedal to add a blend control, and maybe change the capacitor values on the input/output to allow more bass frequencies through the signal. All of which is difficult to modify, considering all the surface-mounted components involved on the Nano.
The more I thought about it, HALF of this desired circuit resides already within the Bass Soul Food as the Volume & Blend portion. The DB Pad switch can be bypassed to keep room for the Tone Bypass switch from the Hot Tubes Nano circuit. The second half of the circuit (the Drive section) can be taken from the Hot Tubes Nano with hardly, if any, modification. The result would be a competitive CMOS Bass Overdrive answer to the ever-growing-popular Vintage Microtubes, and can sell for a fraction of the cost for an American-made product.

PS- Anyone that has any knowledge on how to mod my existing Hot Tubes Nano with a blend would also be MUCH appreciated!

This would be a great idea! I currently use a hot tubes to fatten the bottom end clean signal when I split the input. It’s great at that but, one optimized for Bass would be killer especially if there was a blend nob to control the clean tone back into the mix. I’m thinking similar to the Bass Soul Food (which I also have).
