Hi there!
I started to mess around with the EHX 45000 looper I bought recently yesterday & experienced two major issues.
I hooked the 45000 (slave) up to a Korg Electribe ESX (master). I choose the Full Ext. Clock Mode
set the Quantize Mode, pushed the new loop button and press the record button again, so that it started to blink rapidly. Then I hit play on the Electribe and the record button lights up -> it’s recording.
After recording for 4 bars, i hit either the ‘New Loop’ Button or the ‘Play’ button or even the ‘Record’ Button. After I hit one of these Buttons (New Loop, Play) the EHX Quantize Button light flashes rapidly, as if it’s waiting for a MIDI Signal. When the loop finally starts playing (after a short silence) it becomes obvious that none of the 2 options work properly. The EHX seems to cut down the recorded material to 3 Bars. One Chord (f.e.) gets missing. Subsequently, the start point of the loop (when the play button flashes 1x time) defers through the 4 bars. The first beat still stays on the first beat of the bar, anyway. What is really strange to me, is that it worked almost flawlessly at the beginning of the session, but after the ‘error’ occured, I couldn’t get it to work again. I reseted the electribe to factory settings, tried out 1bar lenght, 2bar length, 4bar length & 8bar length drum patterns and different bpm settings. I tried everything the manual offered, but couldn’t make it work again. I also tried the Beat Clock mode but it produces the same problem as in Full Ext. Clock. I formatted the sd-card, unplugged the 45000 several times, but all with no luck
Is this a known issue?
The other problem that occured, was after turning the machine off and back on again, the Buttons seemed to respond with a noticeable delay of about 1 – 2 seconds. Recording was not possible. It vanished after turning it off and on again, but later occured again. I’m pretty clueless right now…
Any kind of help or encouragement would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and best wishes from Germany,

*****************************************************************************************************
“Regarding the bar count reduction problem, from what I gather the 45000 is actually working correctly there’s just one important thing to know: when you start the Electribe to begin recording on the 45000, the 45000 does not immediately begin recording, it first goes through a 1 bar count-in (you should see the TRACK 1 LED blinking during this time) where it is not recording but preparing to record. The 45000 actually starts recording on beat 1 of the following bar, the second bar. So you have to account for this 1 bar before you actually start playing any music and when you decide to end the loop.”
*****************************************************************************************************I understood the manual in a wrong way, making me think that by activating the “quantize” mode in external beat/sync mode, the count-in is switched off. That was my fault.
The issue with the button push delay seems to be the result of a bad formatted SD card, so all is well!
Thanks for the support!
