My darling wife and daughters gave me a new C-9 pedal for my birthday back in March,but it only arrived a few days ago.I didn’t think that EHX could ever top the B-9 pedal,but of course I underestimated the genius of Mike Matthews,I should have known that the impossible just takes him a little longer.I played around with the pedal on its own for a couple of days,then I set it up in stereo with 2 of my Vox amps, putting a slight delay on the B-9 to make it sound “huge”. The resulting sounds when you have the amps separated by 8 feet or more,is absolutely stunning,and with the B-9 set on “Classic Rock” and the C-9 set on “Tone Wheel” or “Lord Purple) the resulting sound is mind blowing and incredibly addictive-it’s like sitting in a room full of Leslie 810 cabinets.I keep on amazing myself by doing different combinations of ‘voices”,with both of these pedals combined and put through 2 amps, you hardly want to put the guitar down to eat and sleep.I can’t wait to see what kind of “must have” effect Mike Matthews is going to tempt me with next- I hope that it’s before Christmas-of course I really need to get a Pog too.
