Hi…
I have multiple EHX pedals, (bassballs, bass muff, bass micro synth, memory toy, qtron, boss tuner, tc looper… mostly 9v except for the qtron which is 24v
Playing live ive had a few issues with buzz and hum I guessed due to using 2 separate possibly low quality power supplies.
the (9v supply came with the SKB pedalboard and the 24v came with the Qtron.)So i bit the bullet (after some research) and purchased a Voodoo labs pedalpower 2 plus”
http://www.voodoolab.com/pedalpower_2.htmit has 8 x 9v outputs and each is individually switchable to 12v and then via an optional linking cable can be made to 24v
So I set the jumpers on outputs 1 & 2 to 12v and then used the original voodoo cable – (2.5mm Voltage Doubling Cable – 18V or 24V) http://www.voodoolab.com/shop/index.php?cPath=22_24_32 (the one with the red end)Once plugged in, no power light on the qtron… when switched on, no sound or anything, unplugged & replugged… nothing, all other pedals were fine and still powered.
Then put in the original EHX PSU (24v 100ma) and the pedal is indeed deadmeasured both the power supplies
the original EHX PSU is outputting 32v, the Voodoo is outputting 24.7v
This pedal was working before plugging in the Voodoo, and I can see from EHX’s point of view that using a 3rd party PSU would void the warranty, but the voodoo is no cheap PSU! £158 in the uk.
So just wondering if anyone knows whats my options here?
EHX have every right to say stuff your warranty..
I have emailed – Email: electroharmonixuk@virginmedia.com which is the UK support/service address… just wondering if anyone has any other ideas what caused it?
Everything I have read online states they should be compatiblethanks

April 1, 2015 at 6:40 am #120619krevvyMemberHi, thanks for the reply..
There is no way to switch the polarity, it is set by the cable… the info says it is centre positive and designed for ehx pedals….“2.5mm Voltage Doubling Cable – 18V or 24V
For pedals with higher voltage requirements, use this voltage doubling reverse (center positive) cable with a 2.5mm straight barrel end to combine two Pedal Power outputs to make 18V or 24V. Ideal for Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man, Stereo Memory Man, Electric Mistress and others that require 24V”
