I just got a Soul Food pedal and would like to run it with a battery.

The fit for the battery is very tight and it is a struggle to get the base screwed back on.
When I run the pedal the case heats up and taking the base back up the battery is too hot to touch.

Should it be such a tight fit for the battery? The shorting out is a real worry.

Also worried about squeezing the base on so tight it does not fit snugly I really have to screw the base into place.

Is this as designed?
