Hey everyone! Just registered to find out if my ordered USA Big Muff Pi Distortion/Sustainer Pedal is a fake or not. The fact is that it doesn’t have a “Made in NYC” on the pedal itself. It just says “USA”. Nothing more… I attach the photos as well.
So, is it a fake one? Or do EHX have some models, without the “Made in NYC” logo on them?

The box you posted looks official, too. The one on the left is my V6 and the one on the right is the reissue. Mine don’t even have USA on them. Yours looks like it’s authentic, but I’m no expert.

I bought a Micro Q-Tron as well from the same place at the same time and that Q-Tron does have a “Made in NYC, USA” on it… And I do see that some of yours also miss the “slogan”… maybe yours and mine pedals where not made in NYC? lol
October 24, 2014 at 4:18 pm #120332Muff DiverMemberThanks, Supersoberguy! I’ve added a few members to my EHX family now. I’ve added a Deluxe Big Muff, a Germanium OD, a Soul Food and an OD Glove. I hope the pedal stork will be delivering an EHXTortion sometime in the near future. I guess I’ll have to update the family photo sometime. I’m pretty sure all my EHX pedals were made in NYC, USA.

They do both have “Made in NYC, USA” underneath the Electro-Harmonix, it’s just so small and thin you can’t see it in the picture with the bright light against the silver. I pulled the pedals out last night to mess around with them and sure enough, there it was.

The added tone feature added in the late 1970s gave players the option to bypass the tone section completely, but also make it look like another thing from Big Mov. Around 2004, some of the large clones began to fail and were manually made to offer medium-range keys and handles to solve this problem (Ronsund Hair Pie, Huge Swollen Swollen Method, Big Buick Big Beaver, Scridy Pink Meat Pedals, Mojuhand Fx, Bill Iron and so on), and about 10 years ago people were wondering when EHS was about to add this feature. Toon Wicker Big Move took this problem with his wicker circle in 2009, and though Topam was successful and certainly made a sound leap in a mix of bands, users still expected Big to fail with the real control of the middle range. The other desire of users was a big failure or a redision to clone the sound of the Triangle or the head of a large former Moose Ram. This new version of the Deluxe Big Fails covers both applications.
