Some of the guys out there use the tone knob of an overdrive,
to make the bass response of a Big Muff more usable for guitar.
I use a DIY two knob Range Booster to switch an regular Big Muff
from psychedelic growl to heavy distortion tone.

One knob of the Range Booster ads no plenty of db boost but some
hair to the distortion. The other knob changes the bass response
of the whole thing. From full range to treble boost.

It is equipped with one mosfet(bass response?) and one NTE103A
germanium transistor(gain/boost?) plus one bias pot inside.

Why don`t you build us some in usual EHX quality and your unbeatable price?

Anyone here, who needs this too?

It took me a while to think about, how i can solve the problem.
There are some boosters out there, but i like to play an EHX one.
I bought a LPB-1 and will modify the unit to a slightly treble
boost by using smaler caps. I ordered a original 2N5133 Transistor
too. These parts are realy not available in germany, but i will
    get one from england.

    The mod is done.

Changing the trani was too difficult to me.
The original BC550B seems to be well decided.

10nF in C1 and C2 makes a good treble boost
    for any Big Muff Pi.
I tried to bias the trani in another way.
That makes no sense at all.

Why don’t buy a Germanium 4 Big Muff.
It is germanium and has a tone knob also.
Usefull as a treble booster with the addition of
the possibility of overdrive and distort your signal.
